Czerwone Drzwi review

Czerwone Drzwi

The Czerwone Drzwi was one of the first restaurants we visited in Gdansk, and thus also some of the first Polish we learnt, translating simply to the ‘Red Door’. We visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon in December and found we had the cosy restaurant to ourselves. The room seemed higher than it was wide, giving a historic feeling to the space – marred only by some vaguely humourous 80s style art work that had found its way onto the wall.

We only had one course here, but were very impressed at the quality. The roast salmon was served with garlic yoghurt and apple pancakes, traditional flavours well implemented. The trout dish was also very good, simply cooked and presented with fried potatoes and salad. Well cooked, well presented and well priced, the Czerwone Drzwi will definitely be seeing us again.

4 eighties ‘art’ works out of 5
