We got up nice and early and went for an easy breakfast at McDonalds, before I made my way to to LifeCare Dental to address my loose filling. It was a lovely office and the young staff reminded me of McNamara/Troy in Nip/Tuck. They worked quickly and removed a further worn filling before patching both up. The final bill was AUS$400 (reimbursed by travel insurance) and although I was a shaky afterwards, a glass of water and a seat soon sorted me out.

We then headed north out of town and stopped at a large B&Q-esque Bunnings Warehouse where we picked up a few more camping bits and bobs to a total of AUS$17. We drove quickly on to the Yanchep National Park and walked round a large open enclosure, spotting half a dozen koalas snoozing in the tree tops. We then did the shorter marked trail through the woods – made terrifying by the huge spiders strung across the path.

We drove on to Cervantes and had an easy time erecting the tent – it looked great! The camp site was right beside the sea so we wandered down and watched the sunset. The camp kitchen was clean and well fitted – we made great use of it, cooking noodles, sardines and soup, a classic combo!

We went to bed soon after food and found it nice and quiet – although during the night we did feel rather chilly and had to put on a layer of clothes to feel comfortable.
