Rooster review

Roosters

Rooster is Poland’s answer to Hooters – here those middle ‘o’s promise the round rumps of the serving staff who roam the restaurant in hotpants and leggings (and shirts, before anyone gets too excited).

The restaurant itself is a cosy affair, with rustic red themes running throughout. I imagine that it can get pretty rowdy on a busy friday night, but our visit was a quiet December evening and only a few of the tables were full. Of those that were occupied, the visitors were diverse – a group of British couples, a crowd of youngsters and a few tables of middle aged men enjoying a pint.

Roosters

First up we took a round of beers – having never drunk any in NI, the beer in Poland is a revelation. The beers are served with a bowl of popcorn, a nice touch that will bring me back for drinks with the guys when they come to visit.

The food was served quickly, the burgers well presented with a trio of sauces. Unfortunately the food did not taste as good as it looked – the burger itself was dry, cooked through and tasteless, as if cooked from frozen. Pretty much one of the worst burgers I have experienced. I had mine served with vegetables – boiled brocolli and carrots that had long since had all flavour excised. Laura’s cabbage salad was more successful, but hardly enough to save the underwhelming burger.

Roosters

If you are looking for a few drinks with mates, with the bonus of cute waitresses then check it out – but eat elsewhere.
